Privacy Policy — Vouloir

Last updated: 20 October 2026
Applies to: the Vouloir service (vouloirlabs.com and app.vouloirlabs.com) and the Vouloir Browser Extension, version 1.0.1 and later.

1. Who we are

Temple Of The Dog Srl, Schransdreef 133, 3090 Overijse, Belgium, company number 0800.578.018 (“Vouloir”, “we”, “us”), is responsible for your data. Privacy contact: contact@vouloirlabs.com. We have not appointed a data protection officer.

2. What this policy covers

Vouloir lets you track the prices of products you choose. You can add a product on the Vouloir website, or with the Vouloir Browser Extension, which recognises product pages while you browse and lets you save them to your account. This policy covers both.

Our approach. Vouloir is a small start-up, and we deliberately collect and keep as little personal data as we can, to protect your privacy. In practice: the extension analyses pages on your device and sends only numbers, which we do not store; for your account we keep only your name, email address and password; we use one login cookie and no analytics or advertising cookies; and we do not sell or share your data.

3. Your choice in the extension

When you install the Vouloir Browser Extension it opens a page that explains what is described in section 4.1. Until you press “I agree”, the extension does not analyse any page and sends nothing. You can withdraw at any time from the product saving icon in your browser toolbar (“Withdraw consent”). If you cannot see it, open the Extensions menu (the puzzle-piece icon) and pin the Vouloir Browser Extension. Withdrawing stops all analysis and all sending immediately. If we change what is collected, the extension switches itself off and asks you again.

4. What we process and why

4.1 The Vouloir Browser Extension

42 numbers describing a page’s structure (for example how many price-like elements it has). They contain no page address, page text, images or anything you typed. The extension refuses to send anything that is not a number.WhenOn each page you visit that is not skipped (section 7)What forTo decide whether the page is a product pageWhat happens to itSent to our server, scored, and the answer returned. We do not store these numbers. The request carries no login.
Numbers about price candidates on the page (such as relative font size and position)WhenOn pages that look like products, and on supported shopsWhat forTo pick the right price on the pageWhat happens to itSent to our server and scored. We do not store these numbers.
The shop’s site address (the site only, not the page)WhenOn pages that look like products, and on supported shopsWhat forTo fetch that shop's extraction rulesWhat happens to itSent to our server
A list of supported shopsWhenRefreshed about once a dayWhat forTo recognise supported shops without sending the pages you visitWhat happens to itDownloaded from our server and stored on your device
Page address, product title, price, image address, selected options (such as size), product code and the collection you choseWhenOnly when you press Save (or “Track this product” in the popup)What forTo add the product to your account and track its priceWhat happens to itSent to our server with your login and stored as described in 4.2
Your Vouloir loginWhenWhile you are logged inWhat forTo authorise saving and to load your collectionsWhat happens to itRead from the Vouloir login cookie (or, if the cookie is missing, from an open Vouloir tab) and sent only to the Vouloir API. Removed if the server rejects it. It is never given to the web pages you visit.

Stored on your device only: your consent choice, whether you are logged in (yes or no), the vertical position of the floating button, the collection you last selected, the supported-shops list, and temporary tab identifiers while you log in.

Processed on your device and not sent: the content of the pages you visit. The extension reads a page locally to compute the numbers above and to read a product’s title, price and image. Only the items in the table leave your device.

4.2 Your Vouloir account and tracked products

  • Account details: your name, your email address and your password. Your password is stored only in hashed form, using standard password-hashing functions, never in readable form.
  • Tracked products: each product you save, linked to your account: page address, title, image address, price, options, product code, your collections, and the price history we record for it.
  • Daily price checks: once a day our servers visit the pages of tracked products to read the current price and availability. These visits are made by our servers, not from your browser.
  • Alerts: whenever a price changes or a product becomes unavailable we send a push notification in the Vouloir app (via SignalR) and an email to the address on your account. You can switch alerts off in the settings of the Vouloir app.
  • Login token: Vouloir keeps you logged in with a token stored in a cookie and in your browser’s local storage. The cookie contains nothing else, the token is strictly necessary for the service, and the cookie is the only one Vouloir uses. We use no analytics or advertising cookies.

4.3 Technical data

Our web server logs each request: IP address, date and time, the address requested and the response status. We keep these logs for six months for security and troubleshooting.

5. Who receives your data

We do not sell your data and we do not share it with anyone for their own purposes. Our service runs on a server rented from netcup (Germany), and the database is on that same server. Alert emails are sent from that server. netcup acts only on our instructions, under a data processing agreement.

6. What we do not do

We do not show advertising. We do not use your data to decide on credit or lending. We use it only for the purposes in section 4. Vouloir is currently free and we have no affiliate scheme and receive no payment from retailers. In the future we may enter commercial relationships with retailers. We will not share your personal data with them without telling you first and, where the law requires, getting your consent.

7. Pages the extension skips

It does not analyse, and sends nothing for: banking and other financial sites, search engines, search-result and category listing pages, adult sites, streaming services, consultancy and similar service providers, education sites, social networks, webmail and messaging, government sites, login, cart, checkout and account pages, and private-network addresses (such as localhost and intranet sites). The list is a best effort and is not guaranteed to be complete. If you see the extension active on a page that you think should be skipped, tell us.

8. Chrome Web Store user data policy

The use of information received by the Vouloir Browser Extension will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide the features described in this policy.

9. Legal basis for processing

  • Analysing pages to detect products: your consent, given on the consent page and withdrawable at any time.
  • Your account, tracked products, daily price checks and alerts: performing the service you asked for.
  • Server logs: our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure.

10. How long we keep data and deleting your account

DataKept
Numbers sent for page analysisNot stored
Account detailsUntil you delete your account
Tracked products and your collectionsUntil you remove a product or delete your account
Server logsSix months
BackupsUp to about one month
On your deviceUntil you remove the extension; the supported-shops list is deleted when you withdraw consent

A product can be tracked by several people, so a product’s own record (its page address, title, image and price history) is shared. When you remove a product, or delete your account, we remove your identifier from it, and the record is no longer linked to you.

When you delete your account we also delete your account details (name, email address and password hash) and your collections. Deleted data can remain in a backup until the backup is overwritten, which takes up to about one month.

11. Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, delete or export your data, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can delete a tracked product, or your account, in Vouloir at any time. Write to contact@vouloirlabs.com; we answer within one month. You can also complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données), Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels, www.gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be.

12. International transfers

Our server and database are in Germany, inside the European Economic Area, and your data is not transferred outside it.

13. Security

Data between the extension, the website and our server is sent over HTTPS. The extension sends only numbers for page analysis and never gives your login to the web pages you visit.

14. Children

Vouloir is not intended for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If we learn that we have, we delete it.

15. Changes

If we change what is collected or why, we will update this page and the date above, and the extension will ask for your consent again before continuing.
